Mastering - £30 per track

This is the final stage of enhancing, correcting, and processing an audio recording before all digital and physical copies of it are produced. The purpose of mastering is to enhance the characteristics of the music, fix any balance issues, clean up unwanted noises and artefacts, and ensure the audio plays back and translates smoothly across a variety of devices and platforms.

This is where the client will mix the track themselves as normal but then export it into a number of stems before sending it for mastering (e.g. one for vocals, one for drums, one for synths, etc.). This allows for more flexibility and troubleshooting options, and is especially useful for music with vocals or if you are having minor problems with your mix.

This involves mastering each track separately then ensuring a consistent balance, flow, and listenability is maintained throughout the album or EP as a whole, through the steps of critical listening, editing, spacing, levelling, and processing. If required, I can prepare the project for being pressed to vinyl, as well as providing a Disc Description Protocol which contains all the data needed for it to be duplicated to Compact Disc.

Album and EP mastering is done at no extra cost to the standard price of each track.

This is the process of repairing and enhancing an old, damaged, or low-quality audio recording. I can eliminate background noise, clicks, pops, hums, hiss, and other unwanted sounds, as well as correcting problems caused by equipment failure, dropouts, and distortion.

Audio repair is charged at a flat rate of £30 per hour. The time required may vary depending on the complexity and severity of the issues, but I will always strive to deliver the best possible results within a reasonable time frame.
